One of the most visited land marks in our district is the golden drum pump on display in the National Museum of Pumps. “What is so exciting about a drum pump?” many people are heard to ask. But many more people arrive daily to visit the pump. This divergence of attitudes presents a mystery to be solved. Now we here at the Just Visit Us Blog are not in the business of solving mysteries. As our loyal readers are well aware (but for the benefit of those who are new to this blog) the Just Visit Us Blog is all about convincing people to visit us who might not otherwise be so inclined.
JUST VISIT OUR DRUM PUMP DESPITE (OR BECAUSE OF) THE MYSTERY SURROUNDING IT
When people visit us and feast their ganders (as the saying goes) upon the glory that is the golden drum pump on display in the National Museum of Pumps (N. M. O. P.) they often report that their entire outlook on life changes. People’s lives change for different reasons. Often times a person’s life changes because they experience something that touches them deep in their emotional core. Obviously, the emotional core of each person is formed by the unique facts and circumstances of their lives which is the very reason why they are different for every person.
Perhaps changing people’s lives is the reason for museums and art galleries to exist in the first place. People filter in and look at these items on display. These items (by the way) are on display in an unnatural environment. That is, they are on display in an environment that is not where they would have been naturally found before they were placed in a museum or art gallery. But the interesting thing is that they still have the power to change people’s lives.
